Dancing With The Stars Season 11 Cast Announced

dancing with the starsDancing With The Stars Season 11 Lineup.
After much speculation, the final cast for Dancing With The Stars Season 11 has been announced. It includes an eclectic mix of athletes, reality show stars, actors, musicians and, as is becoming aDancing With The Stars trademark, a couple that don’t really seem to be stars at all.
Leading the group are pop/R&B singer Brandy, singer Michael Bolton, actors Florence Henderson,David Hasselhoff and Jennifer Grey and comicMargaret Cho. Reality TV is represented by The Hillsstar Audrina Patridge and Jersey Shore star Mike ‘This Situation’ Sorrentino. Season 11 of Dancing With The Stars will see two athletes compete including former NFL quarterback Kurt Warner and NBA star Rick Fox. In the not-so-famous category we have Kyle Massey who might be well known to parents with younger children for his role on Thats So Raven, but may be unknown to anyone else and former Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin’s daughter Bristol Palin.
Dancing With The Stars has always stretched the meaning of the word “star”, but with the addition of Bristol Palin for Season 11, they have taken it to a whole new level. She is primarily known as the daughter of Sarah Palin who was thrust into the national spotlight when her mom became John McCain’s running mate in the 2008 presidential election. The Palin’s came under fire because of their abstinence only beliefs and message, yet Bristol found herself pregnant and unmarried at age 17. Since the end of the election Bristol has faded from the limelight, but does do some public appearances and works as a teen spokesperson as she advises teen girls against getting pregnant by using her own story as a cautionary tale. She might be doing some good work, but it hardly makes her a star.
How well Bristol will do and whether her presence helps bring in more viewers for Dancing With The Stars Season 11 remains to be seen. If anything can be said about this season’s cast it is that it is vintage Dancing With The Stars. It has actual stars, even if they are past their prime, would be and wanna-be stars and a few that leave you wondering what they were thinking. If nothing else, it should be entertaining.
Catch the Dancing With The Stars Season 11 premiere when it airs Monday, September 20th at 8/7c on ABC.
